Madonna insinuated herself into public confidence by her first singles "Everybody" and "Physical Attraction" and after decided success she got an opportunity to record her first album with the help of “Sire Records”. In July, 27, 1983 Madonna showed the world her self-named album “Madonna”, which included the greatest hits "Borderline", "Holiday" and "Lucky Star". This album combinated several different genres, such as pop, dance-pop and pop rock and this combination became the new stream in contemporary music area. The main single "Holiday" was written by Curtis Hudson and Lisa Stevens and offered to singer Mary Wilson, but turned down. So it became Madonna’s fortunate ticket in the world of music. "Holiday" became Madonna’s first hit. It reached a top twenty hit on the Billboard Hot 100, the top forty on the R&B chart and the Club Play Singles chart. "Holiday" single has been released several times in several different formats in different periods if Madonna’s life. Another super hit was “Lucky Star”. Originally the album had to be titled “Lucky Star”, after the track of the same name, but later the title was changed. So the album was presented to the public as “Madonna”. The single “Lucky Star” is a classic example of the early 1980's music – this is “Madonna's classics”. “Everybody” is a pop-dance music song, which became Madonna’s first commercially available single. It was one of demos played. “Everybody” calls as to the dance floor; its emotional rhythms make us move together. The single became popular in dance clubs, among young people. And the music video for this hit shows Madonna dancing in New York clubs with other dancers. Madonna became the disco diva. Most part of her songs, such as “Lucky Star”, “Burning Up”, “Everybody” was written by she and made her popularity grow. She was the one popularizing dance music. Her rhythms, charisma, crazy dances and sex appeal took her on the crest of the wave. Madonna’s music became recognizable as it differed from any other by its original arrangement, impression and memorable melody. There were different references about this album, but the most part of them was positive. As Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide said: here Madonna is on fire. This fire made her carrier so hasty growing and she kept this fire for all her music way long. Madonna dedicated her “Madonna” to her farther, Tony Ciccone. Madonna sold about 10 million copies of this album around the world. Hits from “Madonna” album took top places in different charts for 168 weeks summary.
