The music video for Madonna’s single Hollywood from her ninth album American Life was shot in June, 2003 at Universal Studios in Universal City, California. Jean-Baptiste Mondino who had been working with Madonna since Open Your Heart video (1986) directed the filming and Lynn Zekanis was the producer of the clip. Madonna premiered her Hollywood video on June 23, 2003 on VH1, June 24 on yahoo.com and June 27 on MTV.

Hollywood video featured scenes of shallow world of Hollywood. Unusually dresses Madonna in the empty apartment symbolizes plastic faces and plastic people looking for their fortune in Hollywood. It looks like a puppet show with a starring stooge. Another impressive scene is the scene of Madonna receiving botox shots. Generally the video borrowed ideas of one of the best known fashion and advertising photographer Guy Bourdin.

There were also released two official videos of Hollywood. The first remix and more popular one titled Aviddiva Remix was recorded by Dustin Robertson and included unreleased footage from the video shoot. Another remix video entitled Paul Oakenfold Edit was used as promo-only.
